After your first experience, our classes are filled on a walk-in basis. No reservations are necessary for members to attend.

The movements in Pilates increase the health, flexibility and stability of the spine while training muscles to work together, improving efficiency of movement and leading to improved posture and overall strength.

Derived from traditional mat-based Pilates principles, this energetic, workout is all about the core or center--the "powerhouse" muscles found between the upper inner thighs and arm pits. The abdomen, back, inner thighs and buttocks will receive special attention during this naturally energetic class paired with up-beat music. You'll learn to use your body as a unit, with all movement flowing out from a strong core. We emphasize muscle and movement control so that you're in charge of your body, not at its mercy.

Executing these moves precisely and consistently demands intense focus and concentration. We cleanse the body with forceful, invigorating, and directed breathing, coordinating breath with movement. Pilates always emphasizes safety and alignment, and can be modified for each student's body and level of proficiency. You'll gain strength, control, stamina, endurance, coordination and muscle tone!

Optimal fitness results come from giving your body a combination of two types of cardiovascular stimulus:

  1. Steady Aerobic – 50 to 70 percent of your heart rate max
  2. High Intensity – Greater than 70% of your heart rate max (this often involves the addition of weights or resistance)
