Hi everyone, my friend and I have been coming for awhile and we both agree that our "dreaded" posture is locust.  I have to know... what muscles are involved to get your "angel wings" that is the feet up over the back. I feel like a struggling trussed goose and my friend says her pubic bone hurts.  Any tips

5 Replies and 3500 Views Sit-ups...yeah right! Started by  Natalie I absolutely, positively, CANNOT sit up correctly when we do the sit-ups in Metal!! (the ones where you are laying down flat with hands behind your head and have to slowly sit up and then slowly curl back down) I HAVE to hold my hands out for support/to push off the mat, and even then my feet fly up in the air. 2 Replies and 3743 Views Rabbit safety Started by  Debra B I had some questions about Rabbit in light of all these articles discussing the dangers of youga -most of the articles talk about poses like plow and shoulder stands because they are so extreme with the tension on the neck. I know it isn't exactly the same but rabbit seems to also put tension (but no weight) on the neck -but rabbit does seem to be in the same category -although it doesn't specifically get mentioned. I am 35, I have a left knee meniscus tear and partial ACL tear that was scoped when I was 18. After losing weight at 30, I have run 6 half-mar's, started yoga after I started running. 2 Replies and 4443 Views Grinding in geometric leg lifts Started by  Kelly Ann I have been attending sunstone for almost three years now, and everytime I do geometric leg lifts in the wood class the is a grinding that occurs in my hip bone area. It is not painful but sounds really loud in my head and does not seem normal. I thought maybe over time I would get stronger, that it was an issue of weakness, but it has not. However, with shortish arms, tight shoulders, and an ample bosom, I cannot grab my foot in standing head to knee preparation. Thus, I am doing A LOT of standing wind relieving. 2 Replies and 4901 Views Tibetan Table pain Started by  Debra B After my first week or so of yoga I noticed some pain in one of my shoulder/deltoids. Not too bad, but sort of a range of motion warning pain. So in my next class I paid super close attention to when this part of my body would flare up and it was during Tibetan table.
