8 June Brandon Hartsell June 8, 2020 How To Choose A Pesonal Trainer Coaching, Personal Training 0 Comment Working with a personal trainer can be a great way to help you meet your fitness goals, avoid injury, and find some additional motivation. But, how do you choose the right personal trainer for you? Here are our tips for choosing a Dallas personal trainer: Define your goals first: Before you start looking for a trainer or fitness coach, it’s important that you first decide what exactly you are looking to get out of these sessions. What level of fitness are you starting at, and what are your goals? Are you just getting started with exercising and you need someone to help teach you proper form and show you some workouts to get started? Or, have you been exercising for a while but would like to have some extra motivation or help going to the next level with your training? Are you looking to lose weight, gain flexibility, grow muscle, etc.? Whatever your specific goals may be, it’s important to define them ahead of time so that you can find a trainer that matches your needs! Learn about their experience and credentials: When choosing a personal trainer, it’s important to find out about their experience. Are they certified? What are their specialties? What is their philosophy? Make sure you choose a knowledgeable, experienced personal trainer that can offer you the specific training you are looking for. Also make sure to find out the trainer’s approach and training philosophy. How do they develop their training programs? How can they be tailored for your specific goals, injuries, priorities, etc.? How will the program evolve over time as you progress? These are all crucial items to understand, so that you can ensure you’re making the right choice for you. Make sure you’re compatible: Since personal training involves an investment of both your time and your money, you want to make sure that you choose one that meshes well with you. While their experience level is important, it’s equally important that you feel comfortable with your trainer, and that they seem like they will be able to inspire and motivate you. Are you looking for someone who will be more like a cheerleader for you, or a trainer who might lean more towards “tough love” when it comes to motivating? What kind of personality do you have, and what kind of trainer do you think would be most compatible and effective for you? Work together to set expectations: Once you’ve selected a personal trainer, work with them to set the expectations. Based on your goals, what do they suggest for the program? How long until they think you can see the results you are looking for? How should you expect to change your overall lifestyle or habits in order to achieve your goals? Personal Transformation Through Yoga I lived with depression, anxiety and poor health throughout my teenage and most of my adult life. Even through all of that I knew that I needed to make positive changes in my life but I did not know what, where or how to begin to make those changes. Yet this unexplainable feeling deep within me knew that I needed to start this journey as soon as possible. I was guided to a lady who practiced yoga and meditation and she shared with me the benefits that she had gained from years of practice. Yoga can be a great way to either get in shape or maintain your level of fitness. It builds strength and flexibility while simultaneously allowing you to focus on your breathing. By practicing yoga, you learn how to control your breathing, even during some rather challenging poses. This in turn helps you in virtually every other area of your life, as it allows you to remain calm and stay in control of your emotions. Yoga also helps you become more in tune with yourself. Therefore, you have the chance to reap both physical and mental benefits of practicing it. Here are some top yoga tips for beginners: Proper Hydration for Dallas Hot Yoga Staying properly hydrated is always important for optimum health, especially in a warm climate like Texas. When undertaking a hot yoga practice, especially with Dallas hot yoga, please make sure to stay well hydrated both inside our studio and during the rest of the day. Our bodies can expend up to 3 liters of water during a single hot yoga class! Accountability Partners: Not just “yoga buddies” Here we are, seven weeks into 2012 … perhaps you started out strong on your New Year’s resolutions to eat healthier, lose ten pounds, or take five hot yoga classes a week. Often times we make resolutions with great ambition in the moment, but we tend to lose perspective (and the eagerness to follow through) as time passes — sleep right now sounds so much better than getting out of bed to take a 6 a.m. Fire class.
