10 December Website Host December 10, 2020 Spotlight: Lisa Owens, Yoga Teacher - Dallas TX General 0 Comment Lisa Owens has been with SunstoneFIT for 13 years. In this time, she has dedicated her teaching to empowering and inspiring our students from all walks of life. From newbies to life-long yogis, Lisa offers something for everyone in each of her classes. When asked about what Lisa brings to Sunstone, Jodie Hudson (SunstoneFIT SR Director) says, “Lisa has been with Sunstone a very long time. She is committed, dedicated, and her students always leave her class feeling great!” The Story of a Dallas Yoga Teacher Lisa’s yoga journey began back in 2002 when she walked past our Uptown Studio. Lisa looked at the sign and took a picture because she’d never heard of Sunstone before. Once Lisa was at home, she googled “Sunstone Yoga” and took her first class the very next day. Needless to say, she was hooked. When asked what yoga means to her, Lisa says, “Freely giving up what is no longer serving me or meeting my needs overtime to make space for things that inspire and motivate me.” Lisa says the best part of her practice is getting in the groove by completely relaxing her mind and being in control of her body at the same time. When asked what makes our Sunstone Studios unique, Lisa says, “All the studios that have their own heartbeats, our community as a whole, and how we cross paths from time to time. The students, teachers, staff, and YOU!” Lisa loves any demanding arm balance because she says it’s challenging and fun at the same time. And, her most difficult pose? Well, mastering eagle has always been one of her most significant challenges on the mat. One piece of advice that Lisa regularly shares with her students is that yoga is like peeling away the layers of an onion. “Out with the old and in with the true, new, you.” The Best Dallas Yoga Teachers Lisa is one of the many talented and dedicated Dallas yoga teachers you’ll find at our Skillman Oak studio.
